HISTORYThe Players' Collective began in March of 2005 out of the ashes of Maschinot's Music. After 5 and a half years teaching together at Maschinot's, Jeff Kessen, Rick McCarty, and Mark Schulte were faced with a challenge. Upon learning the store was closing, they had to figure out where they would continue teaching their guitar/drum students. After a few discussions, and a quick real estate search, the group decided to move to a new location in nearby Fort Thomas and christen the new venture "The Players' Collective". The three musicians brought a combined 75 years of playing, recording, touring, & teaching experience to the new space. The goal of The Players' Collective is to help individuals of all skill levels develop their musical ability to the fullest potential. Whether you are a beginner looking to learn the basics of an instrument, a more experienced player looking to learn songs to play at home, or a professional musician who gigs frequently that is looking to refine his/her chops, the instructors of The Players' Collective can help you. If you're serious about becoming the best musician you can be, we're serious about helping you accomplish that goal. Some of our former and current students perform in bands that record and release albums locally/nationally, gig in/around Greater Cincinnati, and tour regionally/nationally. Some of our former students have received invitations to perform at the Interlochen Center For The Arts, and have been accepted to the music programs of major Universities including the University of Louisville, and Morehead State University. The Players' Collective is a very comfortable and unique space. Located in the heart of downtown Fort Thomas (just minutes south of downtown Cincinnati), the facility houses 5 very spacious rehearsal studios, and a comfortable waiting room. The relaxed and creative environment is extremely conducive to the individual approach the instructors take with each student. It is this simple and effective approach that makes the experience at The Players' Collective so unique. With student enrollment growing each week, the palette of instruction has expanded to include guitar, drum/percussion, bass guitar, piano, and electronic media. |
