ANDY PERKINS
Andy Perkins is a professional, working multi-instrumentalist, specializing in bass and guitar. A player for 18 years, and a performer for 16, he has played hundreds of shows in various band/solo scenarios. The styles he has played show him to be a versatile, multi-dimensional musician. Some of these genres include rock, jazz, acoustic, metal, cover, noise, electronic, instrumental, and experimental. His personal tastes and style reflect the eclectic and extreme fringes of the previously mentioned genres.
Andy is also a professionally certified audio engineer and session musician. He has recorded, produced, and appeared on many albums, from Celtic harp to heavy metal. A self-proclaimed "gear head", he can offer advice, and help you get that "sound" you are looking for.
A passionate instructor, Andy welcomes all styles of playing, and all levels of ability. He believes that with commitment, everyone is capable of expressing themselves through music. Since every student is different, Andy takes his 18 years of experience to develop a unique lesson plan, consisting of short and long-term goals. Some of the topics covered in a typical lesson plan are; left/right hand technique, music theory, sight reading, tablature, improvisation, and song construction.
